Wizards of Mivon
Young divination scholar
Thok is 6ft, with dark brown hair, with piercing blue eyes; he always has his journal with him and his pet hawk Haytham on his shoulder.
Thok started his life, in a small peasant’s cottage on the outskirts of the small town of Halbrook. His parents not being very rich did their best for his education but they were surprised when he started teaching himself books advanced for his age and by the time he was 8 he had over-taken his parents and by 14 he had taught his parents enough so that they could get work as the lords advisor.
With this new rise in social status, Thok was able to buy new books and also had access to his lord’s library. With this large amount of information Thok’s knowledge increased ten-fold and after just 2 years Thok could teach the lord’s personal tutors. It wasn’t until Thok went into Mivon itself did he first learn of magic. He was on a knowledge finding trip for his Lord and it was these first few days in Mivon did he read his first book of magic. After that he asked his Lord if he could apply to be a Wizard and with his parents and his Lords permission he found an experienced wizard called Maldor who was willing to tutor him in the school of divination. Thok found that he understood divination better than any other of the school and quickly started to spend most of his time studying in the divination department. He used his new found skills to keep ahead of his class mates. Looking briefly into the future to seeing any pranks his class mates would pull or just to stay ahead of the heads of departments on their midday rush to lunch.
Thok’s goal out of life is to gain knowledge; he prises books over all other things. His studies into divination are to gain knowledge of the future and so learn from it to increase his knowledge. Thok always walks about with his journal which he keeps updated with all the knowledge he has learnt and any key events that happen on his journey. He keeps his journal very close to him and never lets anyone look into it.
Thok is neutral to the war, it has little concern to him, and it will only affect him if an important document or book were to be burnt by the dark lord’s forces then that may make him re-think his position. He agrees with Mivon’s neutrality in the war, why waste good wizards or a war which has little to do with them? Anyway the wizards numbers are to low right now, if the wizards number were in the thousands then Thok believes then the wizards could make an impact, however right now Thok is just focused on passing his Trails.
Thok’s closest friend is his hawk Haytham, who he saved as a chick. When he was doing his studies in divination, he was hit by a vision of a young chick falling from the roof of Mivon’s tower. Thok quickly sprinted down the stairs, accidently knocking into Blade Master Danak, however Thok’s desperation to save the young chick made him leave Danak on the floor. As Thok arrived at the court yard he looked up and saw a small object hurtling to the ground. Thok’s dived to save the chick and barely managed to catch it before he was lifted off his feet by a red faced Danak. After much explaining to Danak, Thok was forgiven and for saving the young chick Thok was put in charge of its safety until it was old enough to leave the nest. However as the chick grew older it’s attachment to Thok grew and when it was old enough to leave the nest it refused and so it has been Thok’s closes friend and when Thok walks around Haytham is always sitting on his shoulder watching Thok’s back.
Thok couldn’t say that he has any enemies because he normally keeps; the only person that is annoyed by him is the librarian because Thok is always handing books back late. Thok has gained a few rivals though in studies, he was always top of his class and one particular fellow student always tried to one up Thok. His name was Aapeli; he was a strong magic welder, a lot better suited for elemental magic than divination. However he was trying to be a universal wizard and so tried to be the best at all the schools and divination was one of the schools which he just wasn’t good at. So as rivals go he is probably Thok’s main one.
